Dermaplaning is a popular exfoliation treatment that removes the dead skin cells in the upper layer of the skin. It uses a surgical scalpel to lightly ‘shave’ the surface of the skin which also removes the fine vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the face and increases absorption of topical solutions. Clients also find that their makeup sits more smoothly on their skin and skin has a healthy glowing complexion following the removal of vellus hair.

Dermaplaning is a fantastic treatment addition to any salon, aesthetic or skin clinic as the treatment leaves the skin with a youthful glow that clients can see instantly. With repeated procedures, clients can hope to see improvements in skin texture and skin tone with results being noticeable from day one. As this is a non-invasive treatment, this treatment can be performed on almost all skin types except those with acne. As the popularity has risen for aesthetic treatments, so has the interest in skin rejuvenation treatments.

The treatment can be performed monthly in under thirty minutes and has minimal to no downtime. Dermaplaning is a treatment typically only performed on the face and is not to be used for shaping eyebrows, which are also made up of vellus hairs.
